Summer Carillon Concert Series

If you’ve ever strolled through Williamsville on a warm summer evening and heard rich, cascading bell music drifting through the air, chances are you were hearing the Niederlander Carillon—a true musical treasure housed in the Norman tower of Calvary Episcopal Church.

As the only authentic carillon in Western New York and one of just 178 in North America, the Niederlander Carillon offers a one-of-a-kind listening experience. And each summer, it becomes the centerpiece of a beloved tradition: the Calvary Summer Carillon Concert Series.

🎶 A Musical Legacy in Bronze

The carillon’s history is as impressive as its sound. Originally gifted as a 15-bell chime in 1959 by W. and Mrs. Daniel B. Niederlander, the instrument was expanded to 37 bells in 1966 and ultimately became a 44-bell, 3½ octave carillon—the only one of its kind in North America—thanks to additional community support and Mrs. Niederlander’s continued generosity.

Crafted by renowned bell foundries in the Netherlands and the U.S., and maintained by a dedicated fund established by Mrs. Niederlander, the carillon has been carefully preserved and enhanced over the years, ensuring that its powerful tones continue to inspire and uplift.

🌆 Summer Evenings with the Carillon

Whether you’re a longtime listener or discovering the carillon for the first time, these concerts promise an evening of artistry, community, and serenity.
