The Village of Williamsville is proud to announce a community-wide celebration in honor of Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend this free admissions event, which aims to foster unity, resiliency, reflection, and celebration.
Hosted by the Village of Williamsville Arts, Culture & Diversity Committee, the event will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 12-5 pm, at Island Park (5565 Main Street, Williamsville, NY)
The celebration will include Keynote Speaker, Honorable James A.W. McLeod and Guest Speaker, Saladin Allah from the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center. Live music and dancing featuring The Colored Musicians Club (Dale Toliver Jazz Quartet), Vibrant Strings, and Elevated Drill & Dance Team!
Come and take part in free health screenings from the Community Health Center of Buffalo Mobile Health Unit. Food vendors including Auntie’s Breaking Bread, Twisted Icee-Slushie (Non-Alcoholic), Sweet Treats of WNY, and Lemon Love. Shop at local artisans and vendors like Sisters Nurturing Sisters, Lady Glow, and SC Pretty Boutique. Professional groups and representatives from NY State Wide Senior Action Council, Niagara Organizing Alliance For Hope Advocacy Organization, Canisius University, U.B. Jacobs School of Medicine, the Erie County Minority Bar Association, and the Buffalo Black Nurses Association. Enjoy family-friendly activities, and opportunities to learn about African American history, culture, and heritage.
