The Williamsville Beautification Committee is offering a “Petals for Pollinators” give-away at two upcoming Village events. Volunteers will share Zinnia seeds and growing instructions to those who stop by (until the seed packets run out).
- On Saturday, May 30th, stop by the tent in front of the Williamsville Branch Library, 5571 Main St., from 10am-1pm.
- On Saturday, June 6th, our tent will be set up on Island Park for the Earth Day & Arbor Day celebration, from 10am-1pm.
Zinnias offer continuous blooms throughout the summer, are easy to grow, and provide a food source for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. This project gives residents a tangible way to support pollinators while also adding long-lasting color to our community. An informational exhibit is on display in the Williamsville Library for members of the community to learn more about the benefits of Zinnias and how to grow them.
We are looking forward to community members sharing photos of their Zinnias by tagging #PetalsForPollinators on Instagram…or posting photos on our Facebook page “Rooted in Williamsville NY.” For more information about the Williamsville Beautification Committee, go to williamsvilleny.gov.
